The official launching ceremony of the OWSD Cameroon National Chapter took place on December 17th – 18th, 2019, at the AMPHI 700 of the University of Yaounde I. The event was presided by Professor Owono Owono Luc Calvin, Secretary General of the University of Yaounde I, on behalf of the Rector of the University of Yaounde I, Prof Maurice Aurélien SOSSO, held up at a ministerial meeting. Also present was the OWSD President, Prof Jennifer Thomson, and the Rector of the University of Ngaoundere, Prof Uphie Chinje Melo, who is an OWSD member. The main objective of this event was to officially launch the OWSD Cameroon National Chapter, enhance visibility and awareness of OWSD opportunities to participants.

The two-day event included one plenary, 3 keynote talks, a poster session, a roundtable session, a workshop, exhibitions, a Science and Technology Competition organized for secondary school students, unveiling of the National Chapter logo, award of prizes, inauguration of the OWSD-CAM office site offered by the University of Yaounde I, a banquet, networking and social opportunities...
